Hydroxypropyl methylcellulose is a non-ionic cellulose ether made from natural polymer materials through a series of chemical processes. It almost contains all the properties of methylcellulose and is your preferred additive for producing high-quality building materials. To meet the demand for green and environmentally friendly products, our factory has specially developed the Yicheng Jiahua brand for the building materials industry, featuring high water retention, good dispersibility, fine texture, and easy dissolution. It is suitable for new building materials such as dry powder mortar, interior and exterior waterproof putty powder, adhesives, sealants, primers, water-based coatings, and self-leveling agents. In building material production, cellulose ether is an indispensable additive.
After adding HPMC, the following properties can be improved:
1. Water retention — increases water retention, improving issues such as poor hardening and cracking caused by rapid drying and insufficient hydration of cement and gypsum building materials;
2. Adhesion — due to improved mortar plasticity, it can better bond substrates and bonded materials;
3. Anti-slip — due to its thickening effect, it can prevent the slipping of mortar and bonded materials during construction.
